Vachanamrut

  1. "For instance, the skin of a tamarind seed tightly adheres to the seed. Yet, when the seed is roasted over a fire, the skin chars and loosens. It can then be effortlessly peeled away by rubbing the seed between one's hands. Similarly, through the practice of meditation and receiving divine teachings, the karan body separates from the jiva as easily as the charred skin of a roasted tamarind seed. However, even after attempting countless other methods, one cannot eliminate the jiva's ignorance embodied in the karan form."

Karyani 12th

  1. "Those who meditate upon the human form of that God behold the radiant, divine form seated in Akshardham. Such individuals, who meditate in this way, transcend illusion (maya) and achieve the pinnacle of enlightenment."

Gadhada Middle 13th

  1. "The antahkaran can be controlled by contemplating the greatness of God, by meditating on God, and by realizing oneself as the soul."

Loya 5th

  1. “When one meditates on the form of God, it is not at all difficult to attain realization. Conversely, no one should even hope of realizing or seeing the soul by merely contemplating upon it without meditating on God.”

Gadhada Middle 35th

  1. “I believe that it is impossible to see the soul and Brahma without the upasana and meditation of God’s form. Only through upasana can the soul and Brahma be seen; without it, they cannot be seen.”

 Bapashrini Vato

"Just as a groom goes for his wedding, eats there, plays, and when it's time to receive the bride, he remains occupied watching the monkey play; similarly, the soul has come to satsang to attain the Mahaprabhu, but during meditation, it doesn't remain idle and gets involved in worldly activities. This analogy has been given. Therefore, one should examine how to attain the Supreme. What a great attainment we have! So, one should focus on the form (of God) and leave other distractions aside."

Bapashree ni Vato

In the 12th Vachanamrut of Kariyani, it is stated that the causal body is the illusion (maya) of the jiva and is like a vajrasar. Bapashri explained, "By meditating on Shriji Maharaj, the causal body gets roasted. However, through penance and other practices, it does not. For instance, if a whole tamarind is planted, it will grow. After roasting it, the upper part is removed and planted, it will grow. But if the separate white seed is planted and watered, it will not grow. Similarly, through penance, firmness, and other means, the causal body does not get roasted. It only gets burnt when it attaches to Shriji Maharaj's Murti and remains unaffected by creation, maintenance, and destruction, and is not influenced by the divinity of Brahmkoti and Mul-Aksharkoti. Therefore, one should dissolve all knowledge and attach themselves to Shriji Maharaj's Murti."

If there is insistence for meditation, Murti can be had but come out from meditation.”

Master Keshavlal said, “If Murti is seen in meditation, one will not come out of it.” Then Bapashri said, “If one meditates by giving up love for worldly affairs, happiness will come and will not come out from meditation. Therefore, one should ignore illusive objects and happiness and siddhis of Mul-Purush, Brahmkoti, Aksharkoti, etc. They should be considered as worthless and should get attached to His Murti by becoming the form of Shri Purushottam-then only one can be happy. Illusive happiness is like a packet of ashes. This has been believed to be valuable and hence one puts efforts into its collection even by enduring much misery. Whereas if the value of real happiness is believed, what cannot be done for it? If one seriously meditates, he will have Murti wherever his vruti (inclination of mind) goes. For those who have surrendered Shriji Maharaj, this talk is in the form of panacea of life but he who violates commands and ask for favor, is mad.”

Katha, varta, etc is the food of satsangi but to dwell in Murti constantly is to be done. This would have to be done without fail. When it is talked about greatness all like it and when it is talked about meditation all hesitate. It is felt that it is harmful, but it would be done at any cost. The matter related to Murti is so difficult as if one is locked permanently. The father of an unworthy son may repeatedly tell him to do as he is told but he will not do it even though the father will get tired by repeated advice. Similarly, you have been repeatedly told to meditate but you are not doing it. When bullock is pierced to go ahead, it would walk small distance and again will stop – how can the path be covered in this way? When it is talked about meditation, Jiva meditates for a while and again leaves it. Jiva has become blank; it does not walk on that path. It is like Kotharu, Bhandaru, Mahantai, (store, kitchen and head of the particular temple). One thinks that Bhandari or Mahant is appointed from our group of saints but he ignores meditation but there is no way out without it. If one does not realize Murti by meditation and remains in this association, he will be guilty of Maharaj and Muktas. If he insists on meditation, Murti will appear in luminescence and it will be realized within six months, or even before that. What cannot be done with this body? -everything can be done.

To please Shriji Maharaj, one will have to meditate on that divine Murti.” Hirabhai asked Bapashri, “Bapa! We sit for meditation but after some time it seems that so much time has passed. There is much desire inside, but we cannot sit for hours together- what is the reason of it?” Bapashri said, “In fact there is no real desire to join Murti and even if it is there it is only in vachyartha (words). Jiva has need but need differs. Just see! If the diamond is lost one will search for it day and night and till it is not found how disturbed he will become! Similarly, if there is such insistence one can sit in meditation; so, there is no way out but to do meditation- it will have to be done. While meditating ripples like the waves of sea rise, they also subside. If there is real desire and starts meditating, all the three bodies become deserted and there will be realization of Maharaj soon - such is the power of Murti.

"Performing meditation is superior to practices like seva (service) and bhakti (devotion). Those who meditate should not be involved in any worldly activities, and those who meditate should also avoid getting entangled in any worldly matters."
