Insight: One perspective makes us restless; another gives patience. Remain positive and wait for time to unfold.
On Wednesday, 27 December 2017, Gurudev HDH Bapji travelled through the villages of Suka Timba, Vandariya, Doli and nearby areas. In the afternoon, He arrived late at the Godhar mandir. Gurudev sat on a chair to offer the meal to Thakorji. However, there was no food on the table since the sants were heating the food.
A little time passed. An elder sant stood up and began to go towards the kitchen. Gurudev HDH Bapji immediately stopped him and said, “Swami, how compassionate these sants are! Before we offer the meal to Thakorji, they have given us time to do bhajan and bhakti. Come, until then, let us chant and sing bhajans.”
The sant said, “But Dayalu, You have to sit like this and wait! If only the sants had heated the food earlier...”
Gurudev said to the sants seated there, “As renunciants, we have renounced worldly attachment to women and wealth. So what is our true wealth? The great sants have said, ‘There is no wealth like patience, O sants, there is no wealth like patience.’” Until the food was heated, Gurudev imparted some words of wisdom to those sants on patience. The sevak sant felt embarrassed as he came to serve the food. Seeing him, Gurudev said, “Swami, thank you. You gave us time to worship God.”
How wonderful, Gurudev! Even while seated as the Guru, what exemplary patience!
Resolve: In every circumstance, I will remain positive and preserve the rare wealth of patience.
Patience turns waiting into worship.
